“Definitely puts customers first”

I can't thank Illinois Beach Resort enough. I went and toured the site Fall 2010, looking for a place to hold our family reunion (50+ people coming from 7 states) the next summer. The resort is absolutely beautiful and relaxing - and their staff seemed knowledgeable and helpful. I decided this would work for us - quiet and relaxing location with park and trails nearby for those who wanted that, and close to lots of attractions for those who wanted that. I worked with them over the next months to arrange the reunion and their planning staff proved to be helpful, suggested many options as I was trying to please wide interests, and very supportive in the planning stages - and they were very patient with me (I had lots of questions). Where their staff and business really rose to the top though, was how they put customers first in the midst of their own disaster. Just a couple weeks before we were to arrive, the (first) wind storm/tormado went through, taking out their pool and closing the nearby park. In the next week while we were discussing this impact on our gathering, a second large storm went through the area doing further damage to their property and the large surrounding area of Chicago. In amongst all of this turmoil, they continued to be extremely supportive, found alternatives for us as needed, and worked hard to make sure our family's reunion was as successful and enjoyable as possible, all while dealing with the impact of the storm. They definitely put their customers first, and I can't thank them enough!

Room Tip: the suites are beautiful. Definitely recommend getting rooms with lake views.

Beautiful setting right on Lake Michigan... Rooms were clean and well kempt. As I understand it, they are undergoing some renovations, so that may explain how some reviewed the rooms as outdated--I didn't think the rooms were that outdated at all. The pool is also being completely taken out and redone, so I wouldn't expect to be able to swim here for at least a year from now. Beds were comfortable, although I would have liked a little bit softer pillows. Thebeach is kept pretty clean, and the hotel is set back in a forest preserve, so it's very scenic and quiet.

Couldn't have been more pleased with having used the resort as our wedding venue! Nicole, who helped plan and execute our wedding, was so nice, professional, helpful, patient, and made our day come together perfectly. The venue itself is beautiful (even in the rain) and the beach wedding was a dream come true. Our dinner was incredible. Of the comments we heard from guests, the most prevalent was; "It wasn't typical wedding food... it was great!" Every one of the staff was attentive, courteous, and very professional. If we could give Illinois Beach Resort 10 stars out of 5, we would.
